XTREME CUT 232
Within the first week, the manufacturer was able to noticeably increase cutting parameters. Over time, a significant decrease in tooling costs was realized with a 67% increase in throughput. Plus, surface finishes and dimensional stability were greatly improved.
The Challenge
This well-established manufacturer custom engineers, manufactures, and supports all major domestic well designs, delivering premium and innovative pressure control solutions to the Permian Basin E&P community. They had been using a competitor’s soluble oil coolant in the milling operation of their Latch Actuator Housing components, and were experiencing persistent issues with rancidity, forcing them to change the coolant every 6 months.
They reached out to a QualiChem distributor, and asked for an alternative coolant to test. QualiChem was brought in and solved the problem using XTREME CUT 232.
The Solution
XTREME CUT 232
Premium Semi-Synthetic
XTREME CUT 232 is a multi-metal safe cutting and grinding fluid with unmatched machining performance on steels and stainless alloys. Its unique surfactant chemistry dramatically reduces drag-out rates, thereby decreasing usage and maintenance burden.
XTREME CUT 232 runs clean, and has outstanding resistance to biological degradation, even after months in a machine.

The Results
Running XTREME CUT 232, the following benefits were realized:
- The manufacturer was able to noticeably increase cutting parameters within the first week of testing XTREME CUT 232.
- Coolant usage was cut in half. The top-off rate each morning went from 20 gallons of the incumbent coolant to 5-10 gallons of XTREME CUT 232.
- Tooling costs decreased. After 150 cycles (75 completed parts), the manufacturer saved approximately $1,455 in tooling costs.
- Throughput increased approximately 67%.
- Additionally, surface finishes and dimensional stability were greatly increased.
